Why NORAD Tracks Santa Claus
It all began after Colorado Springs based Sears Roebuck & Co printed the wrong telephone number on their Christmas advertisement. The advertisement was for children to call Santa Claus at a particular phone number to get in touch with him. The number that was wrongly printed was actually the hotline number of the CONAD (Now NORAD) Commander-in-Chief. Since then NORAD has been tracking Santa Claus using their radar systems (!!!).
