miller farms colorado free produce Miller Farms of Platteville, Colorado is doing something that I have never heard of before. The family owned farm is giving away 100 pounds of fresh produce to every person entering their farms this weekend (Nov 22 & Nov 23 2008). You can take in family and friends and harvest your own vegetables. The vegetables that you will find in the farm are Red and Yukon Potatoes, Beets, Carrots, Onions and Pumpkins.

As per the information on their website:

We have decided that this coming weekend, Saturday, November 22nd and Sunday, November 23rd, we will be opening our doors to the public for a free weekend for folks to come and harvest what we have left in our fields. We are doing this as a way to say thank you for everyone’s support over the years. We have red and Yukon potatoes, beets, carrots, and onions as well as a few pie pumpkins and leeks that need to be harvested before the weather turns cold for the winter. Families and individuals may come to the farm from 9AM-6PM both days, and can harvest up to 10 -10lb bags of produce per person, while supplies last. We need your help in spreading the word, as what a nice way for some folks out there to get fresh Thanksgiving goodies.
