French President Nikolas Sarkozy Becomes Victim Of Online Fraud

by Trendy on October 19, 2008

In an embarrassing revelation from the French Police, it has been learnt that thieves online have robbed none other than the french premiere, Nikolas Sarkozy. Small withdrawals were made by the thieves from the french president’s account. The withdrawal amounts were kept small to not attract any attention.

The thieves apparently got hold of Sarkozy’s username and password with which they could access his bank account online. They probably didn’t know who they were messing with. The french president did notice the small withdrawals from his account and has now filed an official complaint with the Paris police. Sarkozy’s office has confirmed that fraud squad officers and a prosecutor from Nanterre are currently investigating this case.

The french president is learnt to be making 195,000 pounds every year as his annual salary from the government. In a historic development in 2007, the french president gave himself a 140% pay hike amid protests from the opposition. His reply in his defense was that he would not be like previous presidents, who drew a relatively small salary but expensed everything they spent to the government. He said he would like to keep everything transparent so that the french people know about every penny that is spent by his government.
