The Vice Presidential Debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden will be held today evening at 9 PM ET at the Washington University in St.Louis. The Debate will be moderated by Gwen Ifill. Yesterday, Ifill broke her ankle while rushing down the stairs in her Washington area home. She was said to be preparing for the debate at that time. Ifill is a veteran with PBS and is currently the managing editor of PBS’ “Washington Week” and senior correspondent for “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer”.
Ifill was born in New York City and started her media career with an internship at the Boston Herald. She was also the moderator of the Dick Cheney – John Edwards Vice Presidential Debate during the 2004 presidential elections. She is said to have gotten on the nerves of Cheney during that debate. Cheney asked more than 30 seconds to respond to questions in the debate, to which Ifill said – Nope, that’s all you got.
