Josh Howard of the Dallas Mavericks Basketball team has been caught disrespecting the US national anthem on a YouTube video. The video was shot during a celebrity football game organized by Denver Nuggets star player Allen Iverson.
In the YouTube video, when the National Anthem was being sung, Josh Howard said “”‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ is going on. I don’t celebrate this [expletive]. I’m black.”
Mavericks team owner Mark Cuban said that he spoke with Howard soon after the incident. He warned him that he will be in yet another controversy once this video surfaces online. He also plans to educate his players better by making them go through an “advanced communication skills” session.
