Lipstick On A Pig Row : Obama And McCain Exchange Blows Over ‘Lipstick On A Pig’ Remark

by Trendy

“You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.” – That was an analogy from Barack Obama while speaking about the McCain policies at a recent appearance. This remark is now taking the presidential campaign of both candidates into a negative and ‘attack each other’ phase. The McCain campaign says Obama made a sexist attack against McCain’s VP pick Sarah Palin.

Here is a video of Obama making the ‘lipstick’ remark.

The McCain campaign was quick in releasing this ad and took a dig at Obama asking the voters if he is fit to lead, because he is a sexist?

The Obama remark has been totally taken out of context as you can clearly see. He was referring to the Republican policies and not Sarah Palin when he passed the lipstick remark.

Did the McCain campaign forget McCain’s lipstick remark while talking about Hillary Clinton’s health care policies? Looks like they sure did and hastily put up the above ad to attack Obama. This could really backfire for them. Take a look at this video.

Obama responded angrily over the new McCain ad and said,

Sen. Barack Obama angrily challenged Republican claims that he insulted Gov. Sarah Palin by using the expression “lipstick on a pig” to describe Sen. John McCain’s attempts to paint himself as an agent of change, and called the GOP indignation “phony outrage and Swift boat politics.”
Obama: McCain would rather have the story about “phony and foolish diversions.”

“What their campaign has done this morning is the same game that makes people sick and tired about politics in this country,” Obama told students at Granby High School in Norfolk, Va.

The mud-slinging and negative ads of this presidential campaign will reach its peak as we head more closer to the presidential elections. A lot of fun ahead, huh?
