The USTA and CBS Sports are bringing the US Open Men’s Tennis finals game online. Tomorrow’s US Open finals is scheduled to start at 5 PM ET and free live online streaming and webcast of this game can be watched at the www.usopen.org website.
This live streaming is only available for viewers in the United States. This is a great move to show a non-primetime game on the internet. Tennis lovers at work will be able to watch the game on their computers and productivity at work places will take a definite hit.
More and more games are now being streamed live on the internet by major networks for free. The increase in number of P2P programs like Sopcast and TVU has forced the networks to make this move. These P2P networks originate from China and the networks are finding it increasingly difficult to fight them. Tonight’s NFL Sunday Night Football game between Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears was also streamed online at NBCSports.com.
The Men’s finals will be a match up between four time US open champion and number two seed Roger Federer and number six seed and 21 year old Andy Murray. Rafael Nadal was comprehensively beaten by Murray inside four sets. Murray is in his first Grand Slam finals and will give Federer a run for his money.
