If you bought a Sony Vaio laptop in stores between July 2007 and August 2008, you should get in touch with Sony Electronics right away. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has received complaints about overheating of Vaio laptops and at least one person has suffered burn injuries due to overheating. Today the CPC announced that Sony has responded to the burn hazard concerns by voluntarily recalling about 73,000 Sony Vaio laptops that may present this problem. The vaio models on the recall list are VGN-TZ100, VGN-TZ200, VGN-TZ300 and VGN-TZ2000.
According to a notification on the Sony website, the problem is due to a wiring issue. Consumers should follow directions that are listed in the notification shown below from the Sony website.

Isn’t there a website that shows if there has been a recall on your product? If there is it would be completely useful with situations like this to prevent some serious injuries.
