In yet another case of leaking of Social Security numbers, a website owned by the Iowa County Recorders Association has published Social Security Numbers of thousands of Iowans online. IowaLandRecords.org is the website where the sensitive information was posted. At this time this website has been pulled down and is not accessible over the internet.
In a case of absolute recklessness, election officials published SSN numbers, Home mortgage records and other documents of Iowans from different counties. This has put almost all the citizens affected at risk of identity and credit theft. The governor’s office of Iowa has already initiated an inquiry and is looking into this.
