
More than 75,000 spectators will watch history being created at Invesco Field in Denver When Barack Obama officially accepts the Democratic Nomination as the President of the United States. For the first time in the history of the United States, an African-American has been chosen by one of the two main parties to contest the presidential election.
Barack Obama decided to shift his acceptance speech from the Pepsi Center to the Invesco Field in order to bring in more people to witness this historic event. Today is also the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “I have a dream” speech.
The media is reporting that the lines formed for spectators to get in to the stadium is now more than a few miles long. Barack Obama is scheduled to start his acceptance speech at 8 PM Mountain time (10 PM Eastern Time).
