
The USA women soccer team beat Brazil 1-0 in overtime to win the Beijing Olympics women soccer gold medal. Carli Lloyd scored a left footed winning goal in the 98th minute of the game. Earlier both the teams were tied at 0-0 after end of regulation time. A lot of credit for the win also goes to Hope Solo, the goal keeper of the US team. Hope solo used all her skills in keeping the Brazilian forwards at bay and making sure nothing went past her.
The USA women soccer team have now successfully defended their Olympic title and this was sweet revenge for them against the Brazil soccer team after they had lost to them in the world cup semifinals.
